Communication Update
Communication Update

Dear Central Parents & Guardians,

As the first quarter has come to an end I wanted to update everyone on a couple of items.

  1. Just a friendly reminder school doesn’t start until 8:15 am.  Students who are in grades PreK-6th are not allowed in the hallways or classrooms until after 8:05 am.  If they are here early we are holding them in the Commons Area. This has become unsafe due to the large number of students being held there.  If your student does not eat breakfast, please help us out by dropping them off at 8:05 am.

  2. Another area of concern is attendance.  It has come to my attention from many of our teachers that parents are emailing, texting, and even using social media to communicate attendance directly to the teachers.  Our teachers are busy teaching kids and do not always receive texts, emails, or social media during school hours. All changes to attendance and transportation need to be communicated to the Elementary Office (563) 245-1472.  I’ve directed all teachers to no longer respond to these types of requests and instead direct parents/guardians back to the elementary office. You can find more information in the Elementary Student Handbook.

Thank you for your support in helping us address these two areas of concern.  Student safety is our number one priority.
