Mr. Bergan and some industrial technology students toured the Waterloo Career Center to day to get some ideas to continue to grow the Central Experience for students in Advanced Manufacturing.

Join us for some wonderful holiday music!

Today some students from Mrs. Kremer's class shared treats they made in Makerspace with Mrs. Zittergruen's kindergarten class. Baking helps students understand measurement, science, safety and following directions while they show creativity. . Sharing what they bake shows the importance of doing kind things for others. Special thanks to senior, Karleigh Thorson for assisting the students and taking the photos. Great work! #CentralMakerspace

Mrs. Zittergruen's class completed Junior Achievement courses taught by Danielle Shea of Northwestern Mutual. The kindergartners enjoyed learning about choices, needs and wants, and how to be responsible with the money we earn.

The 4th graders enjoyed hearing from Faith Blaskovich today!

Meet Mrs. Grau!

Abby from Osborne talked to Mrs. Steffen's first grade class about reptiles and amphibians.

Mark your calendars for the rest of the wrestling season!

Due to the potential for ice north of us, the basketball game vs. Kee tonight is postponed to a date TBD.
At this time the HS boys wrestling meet @ South Winn and JH girls basketball game at Clayton Ridge are both still on as scheduled.

While we are very grateful for the awesome support our can project receives and the amazing opportunities the fundraising provides for students, we need your help! We are unable to recycle the glass bottles at this time due to safety, space and transportation issues. We ask that you please not bring glass to our collection bin until further notice. Leaving bottles and cans outside the bin creates mess that the school and community would like to avoid. Please help us continue this great project in a safe and organized manner for students. Thank you!

Thank you again to Brown’s Family of Car Dealership for supporting our student-of-the-month program. These programs allow us to recognize one Student-Athlete and one Fine Arts student for individual character and habits that lead to success. Thank you to Beth Rentschler, Director of High School Partnerships for attending today's assembly.
The November Fine Arts Student of the Month has been nominated for their desire to always do their best and never settle for less. Teachers have commented on how this student is always looking for ways to help other students improve as well, knowing the success of the group depends on each individual doing their best. This student is also known for having a positive attitude and others look forward to being around this each day. Finally, while working toward high achievements this student also maintains a great sense of humor! The November Fine Arts Student of the Month is Ella Buckman.

The past few years we have put a heavy emphasis on building stronger relationships at Central. Our next step in doing so is to tell you a little about ourselves! Each week you will see posts highlighting a team member. Feel free to comment to tell us what we have in common!
Meet Mrs. Meghan Bergan!

The November Student-Athlete of the Month is recognized for their hard word at practice and leading by example. This student-athlete is known for being responsible in meeting high expectations instead of coaches having to hold them accountable to those expectations. Academically this student-athlete is never a concern, and coaches also never have to wonder if they are ready for an upcoming competition. This student-athlete has matured into a young adult that younger students at Central can model themselves after. The November Student-Athlete of the Month is Nick Deitchler.

Central Varsity Girls Basketball Team participated in Rivalry Saturday this year, taking on Maquoketa Valley. The schools at Rivalry Saturday wore #LisaStrong cancer shirts. This was in support of Lisa Brinkmeyer, who is fighting brain cancer. Brinkmeyer is a Hall of Fame inductee in volleyball and basketball and is now the Assistant Director for the IGHSAU. Central and Maquoketa Valley posed for a picture before the game. The Warriors defeated the Wildcats 48-40 to raise their record to 2-0. The Warriors are back in action this week on Tuesday against Kee High at Central.

Congratulations to Central band students Olivia White and Staci Herman for being selected to play in the Upper Iowa Conference Honor Band on November 14th. They had a full day of rehearsals that ended in a fantastic performance with other students in the conference. These students along with all 5-12 Central band members will be performing December 8th at 7pm.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Meet Mrs. Angela Bergan!

Camp Courageous days are some of our favorite days!

5th graders had fun with a card game called Manos Nerviosas to help them learn numbers 1-13 in Spanish! The game is similar to Slap Jack, but instead of slapping just the Jacks, players slap the pile if the card number matches the number they are counting.
