We invite you to join us for our annual Veteran's Day Program, honoring the men and women who have served our country and remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defining our nation. This event is open to the community and we look forward to seeing you all there.

Don't forget our Halloween Parade is TODAY at 2:45 in the Big Gym! Come see all the fun costumes!

Today marks the first official day of high school girls wrestling practice. Here is a schedule to keep you in the loop!

The amount of students involved in after school activities today is phenomenal! We have one gym full of junior high girls basketball and another gym full of junior high wrestlers. The auditorium is in full swing with the cast of the fall play rehearsing and the weight room is packed with the high school girls wrestling team on their first day of practice. What a great day to be a Warrior! Just think, we will have two high school basketball teams added to this schedule in the next couple of weeks and no reason to complain of having nothing to do!

Are you interested in being more involved? Would you like to make the difference in the lives of young adults and help mentor them in competitive sports? If so, we NEED YOU! Central CSD has many coaching opportunities throughout the school year and can always use volunteers to be more involved in our student activities. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out.
Obtaining your Coaching Authorization is a requirement and there are some local options to take advantage of. If hired as a coach, the cost of the coaching authorization will be reimbursed to you upon completing a season as a Central coach.

Are you a family in our school district who struggles to pay the high cost of insurance premiums? Hawki (Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa) insurance provides an opportunity to decrease that burden for families who fall within certain income guidelines. For the most current income guidelines, please see the Hawki website at https://hhs.iowa.gov/hawki.

Matt Moser presented on Red Ribbon Week, “Be Kind to Your Mind” to K-6 students. Living drug free is a great way to be kind to your mind! Young minds continue to develop and drugs can hinder that growth. Matt educated students about resisting peer pressure and making good decisions. K-9 Rexo made his appearance as well. Rexo came from a kennel in Poland, spent 4 weeks in Forest City, Iowa for additional training and has been with Moser for a little over a year. The students enjoyed learning about Rexo, his abilities, likes, and what his job is like.

Congratulations to these Worthy Warriors for the week of October 23-26. Keep up the great work! 🥳👍🥳

School may be out, but the cast of the fall play is hard at work rehearsing! Just two weeks until the show opens! Make plans to catch one....or all three of their performances!

Best of Luck to Central Senior, Jaydin Dettman as she competes at the 2023 State Cross Country Meet today. Jaydin will run at 2:00 this afternoon in Fort Dodge. Go get 'em, Jaydin!

We wrap up Red Ribbon Week with some hats, crazy hair and a lot of students ready for a three day weekend! Thanks to all who participated this week!

The Elkader Chamber of Commerce invites YOU and your family to trick or treat this weekend!

2nd graders completed their landform unit by making salt dough islands! They designed their islands to include 5 landforms they learned about, built them using salt dough, and finished them up with paint!

Tuesday we had a great turnout for Parent-Teacher Conferences! We are looking forward to another great evening tonight.
In our Spring 2023 conferences we had a great turnout of students. 60% of our conferences held included the student. Tuesday night, while we had a great turnout of parents and guardians, we were a little light on students. 36% of our conferences held included the student on Tuesday. If you are coming tonight we would really like to see you bring your student along with you!
Also, remember there will be a bowl of soup and a sandwich waiting for you here tonight! This is being served out of the concession stand.
Make it a great day and we'll see you tonight!

"Teaming up against Drugs" and it looks like these two have the right idea!
We have an early out tomorrow and the theme for Red Ribbon Week Thursday is, "Use your HEAD - Don't use drugs!" Wear your crazy hat, crazy hair and be ready to kick off the start to a three day weekend, Warriors!

Central Preschoolers had the pleasure of having lunch with Iowa State Representative Anne Osmundson today. Thanks for stopping by!
