Art fundamentals’ students took a ‘stab’ at woodcarving this week for “Workshop Wednesday”. We enjoyed having Bob Griffith and Rick Bartels here to help demonstrate the skilled craftsmanship needed to create a wooden 🦉. Both are very talented in this area and brought some of their own pieces along to showcase just that.

Mrs. Zittergruen's kindergarten class earned a special reward yesterday - blanket forts in the classroom! The elementary classes can earn fun rewards by getting 5 class tickets. Some examples of Mrs. Zittergruen's class tickets include working hard for substitute teachers, being patient listeners, and getting right to work after lunch. Ask your students what kinds of things are earning their class a class ticket!

During today’s advisory period, students worked through a team building exercise, holding a fashion show in the auditorium. Using only newspapers and tape, the students had to work quickly, with very limited time to dress their models and send them onstage. From the noise coming from outside the auditorium, sounds like it was not only a successful event, but enjoyed by many! And the winner is… MAXWELL! Congratulations!!!

🚨 ‘BIG’ talent alert!! Senior, Lexi Loan spent majority of her first semester independent art class diligently working away on this larger-than-life, charcoal masterpiece. She took posed, reference photos of herself and compiled them together in a drawing to represent the “seven deadly sins”, in a self-portrait fashion. If you get the chance, stop by the display case at the school, to view first-hand, all the intricate details in this work of art. 😡🤤😴🤗😘🤨🤑

PBIS - “Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports” is an assembly that many schools use to promote safety, encourage behavior expectations and acknowledge achievements. Yesterday, Central held this month’s PBIS 7-12 Assembly in the auditorium, recognizing the recent achievements within the junior high and high school and the students were even given a sneak peek at the upcoming musical. Keep up the great work, Central!

We’ve got some major talent coming from the art room! Sophomore, Alexis Thiese has been working hard on her massive sculpture piece in 3D art class. Inspired by the anime character pictured below, it is in the middle stages of creation and will next get a layer of paper mache, followed with paint, to really bring it to life. Coming soon to a homecoming parade near you! 😉

Music in Schools Month continues and today we celebrated with a little country music to start and end the day, along with some country classics during the passing periods. Students were invited to dress the part, wearing flannels, boots and donning their cowboy hats. Pictured here are some Warriors that participated in the fun: Mrs. Moser with daughter, Alayna and Nurse Meghan with her morning SOS, Maggie. Tomorrow we will celebrate " A Day at the Theatre"!
