The Central Fine Arts Booster Club has been supporting Central's fine arts programs for 68 years! To continue this tradition, parents are invited to attend the first meeting on Monday, September 12 at 6:30pm in the band/chorus room. Currently only 4 families are actively involved with the Booster Club and more are needed. Please attend the first meeting to learn how to support our students in band, chorus, art, speech, and drama. Contact Jen Wilwert (tjsbwilwert@gmail.com) with any questions.

The past few years we have put a heavy emphasis on building stronger relationships at Central. Our next step in doing so is to tell you a little about ourselves! Each week you will see posts highlighting a team member. Feel free to comment to tell us what we have in common!

Students- Why take the ACT test?
Taking the ACT test can increase your chances of earning new or better scholarships. Your ACT score can help you place out of remedial coursework- saving time and money. Every question on the ACT is based on the high school curriculum you are already familiar with.

Central has started a new math curriculum called Bridges in Mathematics. Here are some third graders playing an addition memory game.

Today we were gifted over 100 mental health books and resources to help promote positive mental health and wellness skills. A big thank you to HAWC Partnerships for Children for supporting mental health education for our K-12 students at Central!

We all have some great memories with this Central staff member! Thank you, Mr. Rodenberg, for always having a positive attitude!

The Scratch Cupcake all-school fundraiser has launched!
Have you been cupcaked?
Money raised from Scratch Cupcake sales will go into the Activities Fund and be used for Youth, Junior High, and High School extracurricular activities. This would include items such as youth tournaments and entry fees, Junior High equipment and uniforms, and High School equipment and team camps. These are items that would typically be funded through the sales of student activity cards.
This year we are providing all students with an activity card free of charge and plan to fund our typical expenses through proceeds of the Scratch Cupcake sales.
If you have not been contacted but would like to purchase cupcakes, please call 245-1750.

The volleyball match tomorrow night at Central City will now be 9/JV only starting at 6:00 PM.
Please call 245-1750 with any questions.

The Central FFA clothing order link is now live!

Meet Mrs. Meyer!!

Central received the following information from the Iowa High School Athletic Association
It is with great pride that I send this letter to your school regarding coach and student-athlete conduct during the 2021-2022 school year.
You are one of 207 schools, which calculates to 56.7% of the IHSAA membership, who had no student-athletes or coaches ejected during the 2021-2022 school year.
Too often we dwell on the negative but this is an opportunity for me to convey to you from the Iowa High School Athletic Association that you should take pride in notifying your coaches and your student-athletes how proud you are of their overall conduct during the 2021-2022 school
year,
We continue to see exemplary conduct from our coaches and student-athletes every year. To go through an entire year and not have one flagrant, unsportsmanlike açt during any of your competitions, is certainly something to be proud of.
With the start of the 2022-2023 school year I hope you can use this as a springboard to another great year,
Keep up the good work. Keep the emphasis where we need to have it as it relates to your students and coaches representing your school, community and patrons. We do appreciate your leadership.
At every competition venue and in the stands ---CONDUCT COUNTS!!
Way to go Warriors!!!

We are so excited to see all of you!
Have a great first day, Warriors!

Just a friendly reminder that if you have not registered your student they will not receive their 1:1 device until you do. If you have not paid registration fees but have registered the student will get their 1:1 device but can not take it home. Please call the office if you have any questions or stop in today during Open House.

Central Community,
After a lot of thought and consideration for what is best for our student-athletes and program, we are announcing that we will forgo the 2022 Varsity football schedule and play a JV schedule only. This decision will allow us to focus on the development of our upcoming football players and prepare them to be successful at the varsity level. We fully intend to play a Varsity schedule in 2023. That decision will be made in March and will be based on the commitment of our student-athletes. The JV football season is just the start of our preparation for the 2023 year. The “Building Bridges” model we have implemented is a guide to the work required to be prepared.
We look forward to the Central Community supporting our football program by attending our JV games this season. The current schedule is below. Junior High starts at 4:15, JV to follow at approximately 5:45. If you would like to get involved in the process of rebuilding the Central football program you can email Mr. Reinhart at areinhart@central.k12.ia.us, Coach Heitland at bheitland@central.k12.ia.us, or call 563.245.1751.
Sept. 12 vs. Calamus-Wheatland
Sept. 19 vs. Edgewood-Colesburg
Sept. 26 @ Kee
Oct. 3 vs. Midland

Additionally, last year the Student Council created a new plan for Homecoming festivities. That plan will be shared out by the students in the first few days of school. In short, all other aspects of Homecoming will go on as scheduled.
