This spring, Central Community FFA member Gavin Holst and his father purchased a New Holland 268 Square Baler. This is a starting point for Gavin to begin his entrepreneurial SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience) project in forage production. This summer, he has baled some bales and sold them using the square baler. His future plans are to rent more acres next year and grow his forage production business. In addition to baling his own small square bales and selling them, he has also helped local farmers in making their square bales this summer.
