
Yesterday, Travis Hekel from thINK, came to the art room and spoke about graphic design. The students are creating a logo that we will later print onto shirts at thINK for an upcoming Workshop Wednesday when we meet with business owner, Ryan Burke and see the printing process!


Tomorrow is the Spell-A-Thon test! If your student did not bring their packet today, please have them bring it tomorrow so their teacher can verify their results.

Central families we just found out the bridge will be closed to pedestrians. To accommodate the families on the east side of the river we will have a bus stop at the court house. Our estimated pick up time will be 7:50 and drop off time will be 3:30. As we get more details we will share them out. This will begin tomorrow (4/21)

Teagon and Greta helped the 4th graders win 2nd place in the High Steaks! Beef Marketing Competition! This contest is sponsored every year by the Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation.

Central’s Employability Skills and Pre-Employment Strategies classes take part in mock interviews this morning with a variety of local businesses!





Congratulations to two of our 8th grade vocalists on representing Central tonight at the NEICDA 7/8 Honor Choir in Oelwein. This event last took place in 2019 and we are glad it started up again. These two worked hard all year and greatly deserved this honor. Congratulations!

Spanish one students experimented with different Spanish recipes last week. These students prepared and were able to try Flan, Tres Leches, Arroz Con Leche, and Polvorones.





Spanish 2 students listened to guest speaker Carla and her daughter today from Postville on the topic of immigration.


The JH Central LEAD class helped clean-up Motor Mill today and then got a tour.





On Thursday, April 14th, students from Mrs. Frieden’s classroom participated in the Spring Break Bash at Camp Courageous in Monticello. Students spent the morning swimming.
The mission of Camp Courageous is to inspire a world where individuals with special needs are empowered with courage, to look beyond their current capabilities and explore their world with confidence.





The Boys Track & Field Meet @ Oelwein has been postponed until tomorrow.

Central's 4th grade students got to participate in Band Day! Older band students help the 4th graders try out instruments and help them discover which instrument would be best for them for next year!





Tonight's track & field meets - JH, HS Boys, HS Girls - are all canceled. Additionally, Monday's JH meet at Kee High has been moved to Tuesday.

The March CCS winners enjoyed an afternoon at the Clayton County Extension Office making calming jars and slime. They also enjoyed playing a couple team building games. Thank you to Peggy and the Clayton County Extension Office for hosting the event.
