FFA members do well at Iowa State Fair. Ted Hilgerson showed the reserve champion steer in the FFA performance beef show in Window A and in Window C. Lane Orr also had a Purple ribbon steer in window A and Laci Orr was a blue. The performance beef show places the animals live and they are then harvested and 80% of their final placing is based on the rate of gain and carcass data. In the sheep show Laci Orr and Lexi Fettkether received blue ribbons on their market lambs and breeding ewe. Lexi Pash received a blue on her photo of cattle in the photography show. Bella Moore received a blue on her commercial breeding heifer and Cassie Larson was a blue with her Hereford cow-calf. Also exhibiting were Nate Shirbroun and Rachel Franks.
Two members of the Central FFA Matt Whittle and Laci Orr were part of the state and regional winning 4-H FFA crop scouting team.
