Today we are finishing up the cleanup from our Central Invitational Wrestling Tournament yesterday. When you hold an event like this it is nearly impossible to thank everyone who helped - concession stand workers, table workers, medical staff, ticket takers, city/county/state workers who plowed snow right away in the morning, donors, and countless others who made it possible... Why did everyone do all of this? So 166 wrestlers (64 girls, 102 boys) and a couple dozen cheerleaders could come out and have an opportunity to learn and have fun. A total of 19 different schools were represented. A LOT of fans from these communities were in town yesterday and got to see what the Central Community and the City of Elkader have to offer. The 2021 tournament planning has begun and we intend to make that one even bigger. Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 9, 2021 so you can be involved in this special event. Again, thank you to everyone who has helped make these opportunities possible for the kids.

Central Seniors need your help! Are you a recent graduate or the parent of a recent graduate? The Class of 2020 is hoping to collect graduation robes to reuse rather than purchasing new robes each year. Not only is this thrifty but also environmentally minded. Robes will be stored and reused each year. If you would like to help please bring your gently used robe to the office or to Friday’s home basketball game. All sizes are needed to best fit all class members.

Doing some Spring cleaning? Central is accepting donated graduation gowns to be reused in future graduations. From a recycling perspective, reusing gowns will help us reduce our use of new materials. Financially this will also help us reduce the amount of fundraising needed in the future by reducing the number of new gowns we need to purchase. You can drop your donated gowns off in the High School Office. Orders for this year's graduation are due soon so we would appreciate donations being dropped off before Friday, January 17.
