The art department has been hard at work in preparation for Elkader's first holiday light show that successfully kicked off tonight! It runs through December 31st with festive events every weekend, made possible by Main Street Elkader and Elkader Area Chamber of Commerce. The students who created this fun project were Mya Gregerson, Neva Hill, Shelton Keene, Reese Kuhse, Blair Scherf, and Kaylie Wilson. Special thanks for the extra help from their families, too. It was a great group effort.

Central Community Agricultural Education had the opportunity to visit Fort Atkinson Nursery and learn about floral design during the holiday season. These students worked together to make balsam fir wreaths. Everyone brought home a wreath to decorate to display this holiday season! A big thank you to Scott Sindelar for sharing his expertise with these students and giving them the opportunity to learn a new skill!

Central Industrial Tech students went to Allamakee/Clayton Rural Electric Cooperative and learned about our power distribution system and the many careers that are available within that industry.

Today, Central students were treated to a delicious harvest meal of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade dinner rolls and cranberry sauce!

It was a great night to be a Central Warrior!
PK-6th grade families came to engage in a Family Literacy Night.
Roughly 190 parents and students came to learn more about Fluency, Comprehension, Phonemic Awareness, Phonics and Vocabulary and walked away with games/activities that they can play at home with their children.
Special Thanks to Central Lead, Central High School Student Council, Central PTO, Kid Central and Central Staff. It was a great success!
