Day 1 of the 96th Iowa FFA State Leadership Conference brought the Talent Show, featuring Central Freshmen Millie Burns and Jesse Polkinghorn. In the 1st general session, Senior Jordan Everitt was recognized with an Ag Services Proficiency Award. Way to represent, Warriors!!! The Central high school music students attended the IHSMA Solo-Ensemble Festival at Clayton Ridge this past weekend. Here's a recap of the event!

It's "Character Day" in Preschool/JK and lunch time for these Central Warriors was extra fun!

The middle and high school Upper Iowa/NEIA Conference Art Show will be held in Postville this year, April 16-18. It will be open to the public for viewing on the 16th and 17th. The following Central students are participants and will be attending a field trip there on the 18th for viewing and judging. Tuesday, April 16 1:00 pm - Session 3 Choir/Band Performances (Layla Embretson, Maxwell Schantz, Jesse Polkinghorn, Marissa Glawe, and Millie Burns) Massing of the Flags (Blake Hunt) 3:45 pm - Session 4 Stars Over Iowa (Jordan Everitt) CDE Recognition (Blair Scherf) Iowa FFA Degree Ceremony (Nate Shirbroun, Rebecca Suhr, Jordan Everitt, Keaton Klingman, Caitlyn Druecker) - Jordan Everitt will have his interview for Stars Over Iowa in Agribusiness today. - Kendall Wagner and Logan Everitt are serving as chapter delegates to assist in electing next year's state officer team on Tuesday. - Blair Scherf, Aaron Fangman and Zane Embretson will be competing in Poultry evaluation on Tuesday.

This past Saturday afternoon Karen Waldrup performed at the Volga City Opera House for the 2nd Annual Central Community Scholarship Foundation fundraiser. The music provided a great opportunity to get on the dance floor. Central 2023 Graduate, Eva Embrestson, talked about how the scholarships she received from the CCSF have helped her pay for college tuition. This year's seniors, Makayla Erickson, Elizabeth Royer, and Gracie Kennicker also shared with the audience how the CCSF scholarships will help them achieve their career goals.

NED is coming to our school on Friday, April 19 at 12:45! Please join us! NED's Mindset Mission is a character education program that centers around three important messages that have lifelong relevance: Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best. During the assembly, students will learn about the importance of these three life skills while also enjoying storytelling, magic, humor and yo-yo tricks.

Mrs. Stannard's class has been busy earning class tickets for following CCS expectations and going above and beyond so Friday they earned a trip to the park! They had so much fun playing! #greatdaytobeawarrior

From solos to duets and larger ensembles, it's an opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of music and witness firsthand the dedication and passion our musicians pour into their craft. Your presence would mean the world to us and to our musicians, as it's a reminder of the appreciation and encouragement they receive from our community and district. Yesterday, Central held the 7-12 Worthy Wednesday Assembly. **Our Price is Right game show winner was the 7th grade class. They won a swimming party at Bearfoot Bay in Prairie du Chein, at the end of the month. **We had lots of Worthy Warrior nominations for positive behavior this past month and the three grade level earners pictured are: Junior - Gavin Holst Sophomore - Maci Keppler 7th Grader - Owen Thompson **As we head into the home stretch of our school year, days tend to get busier and can seem more stressful at times. With May being Mental Health Awareness Month we decided to take a moment to address just that. Gracie Kennicker was a very influential guest speaker who stood before her peers to spread light and awareness. We closed our assembly with a resource panel of three, knowledgeable professionals from the mental health field and greatly appreciate their time, valuable information and support.
