Our CCS Ticket winners from last week's assembly got to have their first CCS Experience this afternoon. Mrs. Pope taught them to pop popcorn in an air popper and the big concession stand popper, they had an assortment of toppings to add to their popcorn and then got to play games! They all had the best time!

5th graders attended the Fort Atkinson Rendezvous on Friday. They learned the history of the Fort and toured the Barracks, Cannon Houses, and the Museum. They got to try out musical instruments from that era and games the children would have played. Basket-weaving, soap-making, musket and canon firing where some of the demonstrations they watched. Some students enjoyed root beer, kettle corn and rock candy! It's a great day to be a Warrior!!

The 2nd graders enjoyed a beautiful day at Effigy Mounds on Wednesday! We learned about different kinds of landforms, the various burial mounds, and how Native Americans lived many years ago.

This morning, “Choices Matter” brought in a guest speaker, Cara Filler to talk to Central 7-12 students in the auditorium. Cara talked to students and staff about distracted and impaired driving and how her life has been impacted losing her sister at a young age as a result of car accident. With Central’s Homecoming scheduled next week, we felt the timing of this assembly is important. We encourage you to talk to your students and family about this morning’s presentation and what they took away from the discussion. For more information on Choices Matter, please visit: https://choicesmatter.com/resources/ This event is sponsored by the Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau. Thank you to all those that make events like this possible!
