Central Community FFA hosted their annual awards banquet this past Saturday. Fifty two FFA members were in attendance and over one hundred and twenty guests, including parents and other family members. The students prepared a meal that was served in the gymnasium and the awards ceremony followed in the auditorium. Students were recognized for the career development events, leadership development events, academic achievement, fundraising efforts, and chapter appreciation. The very first American FFA Degree of the formerly known Elkader FFA, Duane Klink, shared his insight on FFA from the late 1950's. He received his Iowa FFA Degree in 1957 and his American FFA Degree in 1960. It was an honor to hear about his experience in the FFA!
This was a great event and we're still hearing wonderful things about the night! Kudos to Mrs. Bond, the FFA students and all who contributed to the event!

Central staff took some time today to educate students about the solar eclipse that was occurring today. With special glasses, students were able to view at least a partial eclipse, as we were able to see here in Iowa. Both students and staff were in awe as they caught a glimpse of this spectacular sight!

Just a reminder that the Spell-a-thon test is tomorrow, Friday, April 5. Please have your students bring back their pledge sheet tomorrow (if they haven't already brought it) so the teacher can verify how many words were spelled correctly. Your student will get their packet back so they are able to collect their pledged money.
Pledges and/or donations are due next Friday, April 12.
We appreciate all that you do to make this a successful fundraiser for our students!

Today is National School Librarian Day and we want to take some time to recognize the professionals who keep our school libraries in working order.
Central’s School Librarians are such an incredible value to our schools and work diligently to help the needs of all students in the media centers. Our Warrior students have an immense amount of information at their fingertips but sometimes need the guidance in how to research and apply the knowledge they are learning. In addition to teaching and reinforcing library and media skills, school librarians help support the love of reading and teaching our students how to think critically about the information they are sifting through.
A lady of many hats, Mrs. Healy not only serves as the middle and high school librarian but teaches classes and serves as Central’s Technology Director. Thank you, Mrs. Healy, for all you do not only for our students and staff but answering the never-ending calls for tech support daily! We appreciate all that you do and give to Central!!!
Thank you, Ms. French and Mrs. Robinson for all you do for Central! We're very lucky to have all three of you!!!

As we begin the official countdown to graduation day, please help us celebrate Central's Class of 2024! Congratulations to Senior - Erin Hauser!
