Central’s CCS Assembly Tickets winners for March made a trip to Pedretti’s Bakery today. Owners, Christopher and Jamie Reimer took the time to show students the behind-the-scenes operations of everyone’s favorite place to visit. They learned how to frost cookies and cakes, how to airbrush designs on the cookies… and of course, how to enjoy them all by finishing with some yummy treats to eat. Thank you, Pedretti’s for taking the time to share your love with our Warriors!

While tomorrow may be dedicated as Paraprofessional Appreciation Day, we’re celebrating our paraprofessionals all week! Please help us recognize some of our “behind-the-scenes educators”. They work under the supervision of licensed professionals and play an integral role in education. We truly believe it takes a village and all hands-on deck to ensure the best possible learning conditions for our students. Here at Central, we would be lost without our Paraprofessionals! We truly have some of the best! Please thank these educators when you see them and let them know how much you appreciate all their hard work in and out of the classrooms and the love that they provide to our Warriors!

The Central Torch Chapter had their second American Red Cross blood drive this school year. Thanks to the generous people in our community (staff, students and community members) we collected a total of 60 units of blood. Lives were saved today!

This morning, Central Eighth Graders attended a Career Fair that was hosted by NICC and Upper Iowa University at UIU. This opportunity allows these students to start thinking about career and educational goals. These booths provided some great hands-on activities and were very much enjoyed by these Central students!

Second grade finished up their last junior achievement with Chelsie from FreedomBank today! They enjoyed learning about community and government, and they especially enjoyed making pizzas and getting paid for their work. They ended their last session with certificates and cookies! Thank you Chelsie for teaching us so many new things!
