Football camp for 7-12 grade athletes is August 1-5th from 9:00-11:30 at the Central practice field below the school.

Concussion Screening Sign Up Reminder
The following athletes will need a concussion screening before the first day of practice for the 2022-2023 seasons.
-7th Grade Football
-All Freshman
-All Juniors
-Sophomores and Seniors who have not had a screening the previous year.
Screenings are done at no cost at Mercy One in Elkader on the following dates and times.
July 19th from 2:00-4:45 PM
July 25th from 2:00-4:45 PM
August 2 from 7:00-10:45 AM
August 9 from 2:00-4:45 PM
Please call 245-1750 or email awalch@central.k12.ia.us to set up your 15 minute appointment. Mercy One requires student-Athletes to bring a mask to the appointment.

Today’s softball tournament at Decorah has been cancelled due to the rain.
Congratulations again to the cast and crew of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL on receiving awards from IHSMTA by the Des Moines Performing Arts Center! The showcase was held at the Des Moines Civic Center and featured multiple performances from schools all across Iowa and Broadway singer Lillias White! William and Alivia represented the cast and crew at the IHSMTA Showcase and participated in the Showcase Finale Medley with students from schools all over Iowa and were music-directed and choreographed by New York based professionals! What a wonderful night for theatre! #ihsmta #centralwarriors
The Activity Calendar has been updated with all 2022-2023 events. Our Activity Card prices for next year have been updated as well. Student Activity Cards were $45 each last year and will be FREE for all Central students next year! Yes, all K-12 Central students will get into all regular season events at no charge! Adult Activity Cards will remain $65 each. Senior Citizens (65+) will continue receiving a complimentary pass as well!

The Central Spanish Club just returned from their week long trip to Costa Rica. Some of the highlight’s included taking a Latin dance class, Arenal Hot Springs, a night hike in the cloud forest, snorkeling, and time on Isla Tortuga.
Central Community FFA Floriculture CDE team spent their morning at the Elkader Floral Shop learning how to conquer their team event portion where they make floral arrangements! Thank you Janis and Jane for teaching these FFA members today!

Mrs. Patenaude, a 7-12 English teacher at Central, was awarded the secondary building's Masonic Lodge Teacher of the Year award for the 2021-2022 school year. Numerous seniors identified Mrs. Patenaude this year as the teacher who has had the most significant impact on them during their time at Central. Mrs. Patenaude was also a leader of Friday's professional development for classroom instruction.
Mrs. Wiley, a first-grade teacher at Central, was awarded the elementary building's Masonic Lodge Teacher of the Year award. Mrs. Wiley led the search for Central's new math curriculum as well as being a teacher leader and participated on the building leadership team during the 2021-2022 school year.
Due to field conditions and forecasted weather, today’s softball tournament is canceled.
