Central earns the Carrie Chapman Catt Award.
It was with the help of Mr Wiley's American Government students that Central was able to achieve this. The award goes to schools that register at least ninety percent of their eligible students to vote. The award was created by Secretary Pate in 2019 to encourage voter registration in Iowa high schools.

Congratulations to our HS Band and HS Chorus on an outstanding Spring Concert and Music Awards Night! Students were recognized with musical honors and awards, performed Solo/Ensemble repertoire, their respective Large Group repertoire, Jazz Choir and Jazz Band, and performed a combined piece between both ensembles!
We also made sure to honor our music seniors that we know we are going to miss next year. Thank you for your contributions to the program over the years. It will not go unnoticed.
Thank you to all those that put tonight’s program together and those that came out to support it. It made for an incredible night of music!

Congratulations to these choir students on a successful UIC Middle School Vocal Music Festival hosted by Central! Schools represented were Clayton Ridge, Eastern Allamakee, MFL Mar-Mac, Postville, and Central.
Central was also represented by their guest director today, Central alumnus, Mr. Peter Grau. Students rehearsed with Mr. Grau for a few hours this afternoon and worked together to put on a wonderful concert! All of the individual performances from each school and the Mass Choir at the end were outstanding and made for a perfect night of music!
Thank you to all that helped with today, all those that came out to support, and all of those that performed for giving us hope with your music!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! There's not enough that can be said or done to truly let our teachers know how much we appreciate them, but let's start with some kind messages!
We encourage you to reach out to your teachers, your kids' teachers, past and present and let them know the difference they have made in your life. Or just some encouraging words to boost their day! Emails, cards, letters or even leaving a comment here are all great ways to tell our teachers THANK YOU!

Another great group of 1st-6th graders showed up today at Maquoketa Valley for a very cold youth track meet.
