This year National FFA week kicks off on February 20th and culminates on February 27th. National FFA Week always runs Saturday to Saturday and encompasses February 22nd, George Washington’s birthday. The National FFA Board of Directors designated the week long tradition, which began in 1948, in recognition of Washington’s legacy as an agriculturist and farmer. A group of young farmers founded FFA in 1928, and the organization has been influencing generations that agriculture is more than planting and harvesting — it involves science, business and more. More than 760,000 FFA members across the country will share the story of agriculture as part of National FFA Week.
How will Central Community FFA members celebrate their National FFA week? FFA members have been working tirelessly planning a great week of celebrating FFA. Activities range from dress up days, appreciation breakfast for school employees, and agriculture olympics. On Tuesday, Central will be sending thirteen members to participate in leadership career development events.
Enjoy as we share National FFA week with you!

The 7-12 Advisor Groups put their engineering and problem solving skills to work today building a spaghetti tower that would support the weight of a marshmallow. Here are a few photos of the students at work.

Third graders enjoyed being detectives as they dug into owl pellets. They had fun comparing and contrasting bones from the little critters the owls ate and regurgitated.

Congratulations to Brandy Beatty and Brayden Finley on their Large Group Speech All-State Nominations! Both Brandy and Brayden earned All-State honors for their Ensemble Acting performance of "The History of Television, Condensed" and Brandy earned another All-State honor for her Solo Mime, "Stuck Between a Rock and a Hard Place." This is a fantastic achievement for both and the Large Group Speech Team as a whole. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Evan and Grace from Central Community School. They were our December Student Athletes of the Month!

Third graders are having fun learning about our skeletal system. Here they are working together, to find out how many bones are in the human body.
