Governor Reynolds has a press conference scheduled for 4:30 today. Directly following the press conference, Keystone AEA Superintendents are meeting to discuss the Governor's message. We will provide more information after these meetings.
This is a friendly reminder that Parent/Teacher Conferences are canceled tonight. The Central School Board meeting will remain scheduled and is open to the public. We ask everyone to follow the guidelines set forth by the CDC and IDPH.

Central held its own State Contest today with 8 students and 11 performances, earning 9 overall Division 1 ratings, 2 Division 2 ratings, and had 3 students' performances earning All-State Honors.

Brittany (Dating Violence Advocate from Helping Services for Youth and Families) and Courtney (Health Programs & Resources Coordinator from Northeast Iowa Community Action) presented to the Life Changes 2 and 8th Grade classes this week.


Central 2nd and 5th grade book buddies celebrated the sunshine today and painted spring pictures.




The 1st graders had a visit from the Clayton County Dairy Princess! She talked to the kids about dairy farming, gave them each a coloring book, cow headband, coloring contest sheet and ended with a
cheese stick for snack!



Kindergarten students are working hard to understand closed syllables: 1 vowel, the vowel is closed in by one or more consonants, and the vowel says its short sound.
They were able to come up with 76 different closed syllable words. Feel free to have them explain this to you and continue to "hunt" for these words at home!

Mrs. Wiley’s class is excited to start March Book Madness. We will post updates on which books made it to the Elite 8, Final 4, Championship and which book was our winner.

Registration Night is tonight! The goal is to communicate to both students and parents the registration process and for students to review with their parents their 4 year plans, which will be used to register them for next year's classes. We look forward to seeing you!
Central Fine Arts Booster Club will be meeting today at 6:30 p.m. in the band/chorus room. The agenda includes reviewing Carnival, planning a trip to Des Moines to see the musical Wicked in June, and staff reports. All parents of fine arts students are welcome to attend.
These students represented Central at the Tri-State Honor Band this weekend.

Blood drive was a success today! While we didn’t earn a second scholarship, we did meet the goal from the Red Cross of 58 units of blood! The best part though was hearing the positive feedback from the Red Cross volunteers! Way to represent Central!!
