Clayton County BEST students tour Fassbinder Apiaries to learn more about raising bees as they explore the idea of starting a bee hive. Thank you to Kathy Fassbinder for her time and knowledge.


Central youth are playing under the lights tonight! Throughout their season they have learned a lot of fundamental skills that are preparing them for their future on the junior high, and then varsity, teams.

The Central Soil Judging team placed 3rd out of 19 schools and qualifies them for state. Kory was our top placer in 8th out of 152 contestants. The top 4 finishers at Central were Kory, Nate, Keaton, and Tristan. A big thank you to the Clayton County Conservation for the previous days competition, the experience was very helpful.

Central had 5 students compete in the Clayton County soil judging contest held at Motor Mill. The participants judged 3 pits and also were part of a pacing contest and laying out a level line on a contour slope using a sight level. Thank Suzanne Shirbroun for transporting the students and taking the pictures of the contest also the Clayton County Conservation Service for putting on the contest it was a really good learning experience and the students enjoyed going.

The Elkader Masonic Lodge #72 and Pleasant Point Grange #2222 purchase dictionaries for third graders in Clayton County and other local schools. Here are some pictures of Central's third graders receiving their dictionaries. Thanks to these two organizations!!!

Third graders had a fun and busy homecoming week. On Friday, we toured Plagman's Barn where we had a school lesson from 100 years ago. What a great day!





This ring was turned into the press box Friday night at the football game. It was found by the softball diamond and appears to be a male wedding band with no inscription. Help us find the owner.



Central's 2019 Homecoming Grand Marshall, Merrill Hyde and the 1969 State Championship Softball Team and 2019 Hall Famer, Ed Larson.





Mrs. Kuehl’s 2nd grade class was dated by Mrs. Burkle to wear the lightning tattoos as a mustache. They returned the dare! Happy homecoming!
