FFA members do well at Iowa State Fair. Ted Hilgerson showed the reserve champion steer in the FFA performance beef show in Window A and in Window C. Lane Orr also had a Purple ribbon steer in window A and Laci Orr was a blue. The performance beef show places the animals live and they are then harvested and 80% of their final placing is based on the rate of gain and carcass data. In the sheep show Laci Orr and Lexi Fettkether received blue ribbons on their market lambs and breeding ewe. Lexi Pash received a blue on her photo of cattle in the photography show. Bella Moore received a blue on her commercial breeding heifer and Cassie Larson was a blue with her Hereford cow-calf. Also exhibiting were Nate Shirbroun and Rachel Franks.
Two members of the Central FFA Matt Whittle and Laci Orr were part of the state and regional winning 4-H FFA crop scouting team.

Powder Puff Shirt Order.

This year at Central we are supporting students in their learning of appropriate cell phone use. Today we had a large group conversation with all 7th and 8th grade students about cell phone use during lunch. Mr. Bormann is pictured here facilitating a conversation about a scenario he described. The three scenarios discussed were answering phone calls, taking pictures of other people, and appropriate times to watch movies/TV shows.
If you have any questions about what we are teaching students, please contact Mr. Reinhart.

Homecoming Shirts
Orders are due back by September 10th.
Forms will be emailed to all families or you can stop in the office to pick one up.

Interested in private instruction or in need of tutoring? Central has retired teachers that are wanting to continue working with our students. Contact Mr. Reinhart if you want more information.
