1st graders worked on making umbrellas that let the wind blow through, just like the leaves on the trees do!




Central Fine Arts Booster Club will meet on Monday, October 14 at 6:30 pm in the band/choir room. The agenda includes an update on the Nashville trip, designing a community/business leveled sponsorship program, supporting students after performances, and staff reports. Yesterday, the Central HS Chorus attended the 2019 UIC HS Vocal Festival. 450 students represented the entire conference performing as an individual choir and as a mass group. Two Central students were selected as soloists for the final song in the concert! Congrats Warriors!

Central is very fortunate to have Vicki Bries Rieder visit our school on Friday, October 18th. The Central graduate will be reading her first published book "Slumberina" to the K-3 classrooms. Vicki will have books for sale and she will be glad to sign them. Order forms have been sent home, but if you still need one, please contact the school. Vicki will also be at the Elkader Public Library on Saturday, the 19th, at 10:30.


To promote productive large group conversations with 6th graders, Ms. Meyers uses hand signals when kids raise their hand.
