Last week, 5th graders ventured to the Preschool building to make pumpkins! They helped the preschoolers use fine motor skills and built relationships with great conversations! Everyone looks forward to their time together.

The pictured artwork was accepted into the NEIAHS Art Show, hosted by ArtHaus in Decorah. Last Friday evening, some of the students attended the open house gallery reception with Mrs. Lechtenberg. Artwork will be on display for public viewing, during ArtHaus business hours, throughout the month of November. Congratulations to all of our talented artists!








The Gaga Ball Pit is up and getting some good use! Mr. Ledbeter taught littles AND bigs to play and it's fun for all ages!




Catalysts for Change: 4-H Youth Voice in Action Summit
Fayette, Iowa – Youth voices are power behind change in their communities. That was the message of Youth Voice in Action, a day-long 4-H summit at Upper Iowa University led by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach county and state youth outreach staff on October 21.
During the sixth annual event, 88 youth from 15 area schools learned about using their voice for leadership, decision making in teams, and making an action plan for change in their community.
They also heard from ISU Extension and Outreach staff on various workshop topics. Participating Schools were from: Allamakee, Bremer, Buchanan, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard and Winneshiek counties.

Central Warriors have been working tirelessly to put together a Veterans Day Program to honor all our military members: past, present, and future.
Program begins at 2pm doors will open at 1:30pm for seating.


Don't forget to RSVP to our Family Literacy Night on Tuesday, November 19th from 6:00-7:30.
Our goal is to get families into the building and for all of us to be partners in helping students become better readers by providing materials to go home with to engage in literacy rich activities.
We have Central Warriors bags to give out to each family that participates, as well as a free supper for your whole family and giveaways for each grade level PS - 6th grade!
Please RSVP by November 8th by either returning the form that was sent home with your student(s) or by emailing sburke@central.k12.ia.us . We need only one RSVP per family, and appreciate getting "No" RSVPs as well so we know you are aware of this event.


Seventeen Central Community FFA members received their degrees last night! There were four Discovery, eleven Greenhand, and two Chapter FFA Degrees awarded! Our most current American Degree recipient, Dani Whittle addressed the attendees and Blair Scherf presented the FFA Creed! Congratulations to all!

Congratulations to Gavin Holst on his representation of Central Community School in the 2024 Iowa State Cross Country meet, Saturday, November 2! Gavin competed great on a near perfect day. He finished 59th out of over 150 of the state's best competitors in class 1A.




Central Warrior, Gavin Holst is on his way to the State Cross Country Meet! We're all cheering for you Gavin, best of luck to you!

Central Community School District is excited to have Central Alum, Rebecca (Curran) Kasuboski -Class of 2012 scheduled as this year's guest speaker for the Veterans Day Program on Nov. 11 at 2:00 pm in the high school gym.
Rebecca first joined the Iowa Army National Guard during her senior year of high school in December 2011. She currently is a Staff Sergeant in the Iowa Army National Guard serving in the 1133rd Transportation Company in Iowa City, IA.
It's always great to have alumni back in the building! Please join us on Veterans Day to honor current military personnel and those who have served.
