The JH boys basketball game for tonight has been cancelled. The boys will practice from 3:45-5:00 today.
Last week #ClaytonCountyBEST student were invited to MFL MarMac to have lunch with the newly launched MORE program that is similar to Central’s Clayton County BEST program. Student were able to share their experiences and compare notes.
In Makerspace, this 2nd grader turned her perler beads into earrings. She’s now considering starting her own online store.

Jillian Webb Hermann visited our art class today with her photography. It was very interesting and engaging. She started with sharing a few basics about photography and some of her favorite things about it, personally and professionally. She ended the period with a fun, mini photo shoot of the class to demonstrate the importance of lighting and will also give us the gallery of images! Art's Way Scientific designs, manufactures, delivers and installs custom research facilities for health care and agriculture purposes generally in less than 6 months, as compared to years often required for conventional design/build projects.

Central Community School is looking for volunteers on February 21st for the Individual Speech Contest. The event will run from 4:30-845 pm. If you are available to help with a shift, please stop by the office or email awalch@central.k12.ia.us.
Mrs. Kremer’s 4th grade class writing and illustrating their own adventure stories on animals they have researched over the past few weeks. While being creative these students are also using facts they have learned, like defense mechanisms to help their animals survive.

Chelsea Hanson, owner of TDs, came to Ms. Schmeling's 7th grade Math class to share her experience with sales tax, tips, discounts, and markups. Students were able to apply their learning from the classroom by finding the markup price of a real life example. Try your luck at the example!

Last night, Jazz Central performed for the IHSMA Jazz Clinic at Maquoketa Valley and earned a Div. 2 "Excellent" rating from the judges. They learned a lot of concepts and what to work on for the upcoming Iowa Vocal Jazz Championship recording. Keep up the good work Jazz Central!
Congratulations to the LG Speech Team on two nominations for the IHSSA All-State Festival! Central's Readers Theatre group, "The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon" received a non-performing nomination with 10 students, and our 2-student Radio Broadcasting group, "W-E-N-D" will be performing at the IHSSA All-State Festival at Iowa State University in Ames on Saturday, February 19th. Congratulations LG Speech Team!
