The December Fine Arts Student of the Month is described by her teachers as very positive in the classroom and rehearsal spaces. She always shows up early to rehearsals and performances. She has a great work ethic and is willing to help out in any way she can to make the program successful and sound better as a whole. The December Fine Arts Student of the Month is Staci Herman.
A big thank you to Brown’s Family of Car Dealerships for supporting our student-of-the-month program. Each month we recognize one student-athlete and one Fine Arts student for individual character and habits that lead to success.

The December Student-Athlete of the Month is described as someone who follows through on their word and is very dependable. This student-athlete has not missed a single second of practice and has taken on more responsibility throughout the season. The nominating coach acknowledges that he is harder on this student-athlete than others on the team because of goals and potential he has. This student-athlete embraces this environment and uses it to improve himself. Finally, maybe the only thing this student-athlete is not capable of is complaining and making excuses. He remains coachable even when things have been most difficult. The December Student-Athlete of the Month is Dan McGreal.
A big thank you to Brown’s Family of Car Dealerships for supporting our student-of-the-month program. Each month we recognize one student-athlete and one Fine Arts student for individual character and habits that lead to success.

On Wednesday #ClaytonCountyBEST students presented Natalie Shea of MercyOne Hospital in Elkader with adorable stuffed animals to give to future pediatric patients. This project was created by the students after they saw a need in our community. Thank you to MercyOne Elkader for working with the students to make this project successful and to Kathy Josten and Bridge Street Boutique for her help in getting the stuffed animals. Also a big shout out to the staff of Central Community School for their generous donations to get this project started. We all hope the stuffed animals do not need to be use, but hope they will bring comfort and joy if their use is needed. Great job, ladies!

Today’s winners of Central’s Door Decorating Competition! Mrs. Hesse for 7-12 with her Grinch door and Mr. Stramer for K-6 with his Santa and Elf door along with his fifth grade class and Mrs. Belser! This is Mr. Stramer’s second win in a row!

Last week Central 6th graders spent the day at Osborne Nature Center for a survival day after finishing our Hatchet unit. Thanks Abbey, Kenny and parents that were able to join.

Some of the holiday door decorations!

What a cool project to head into break on! 4th graders had to create a store of products they created out of paper. They had to come up with a price, interest inventory, slogan, commercial, product description, and consumer comments. Today they got to sell their products as well as shop for their classmates products. Judging by the engagement and excitement I wonder if they even know how much they are learning about literacy and math, not to mention customer service!! Great job Mrs. Kremer and 4th graders

There will be no open gym this coming Sunday, December 26th.

More holiday door designs!

Congratulations Brandy on signing your letter of intent to run track & field at Wartburg College next year! Brandy plans to major in Accounting with a minor in Spanish. She aspires to be a forensic accountant and work for the FBI.
