Central's Clayton County BEST in partnership with Clayton County Development Group is excited to launch a series of informational programs for Central students called "In the Know in the Nook". This new program will focus on educating students on employment opportunities after high school. "In the Know in the Nook" will be a take on the college representative visits that have occurred in high schools for decades. This program will give local employers the same opportunity to talk directly to students about the variety of careers available right here in Clayton County. Often county residents are unaware of the vast assortment of global employment opportunities available right here at home. While many do not require post-secondary schooling or have help available for students to pay for the training they need, many also have opportunities awaiting students after a college degree. At “In the Know in the Nook,” students will have the opportunity to speak directly with people from a local business or industry in a small group setting to learn more about what they have to offer. Please encourage your high school students to stop down in the Nook in the cafeteria on Wednesdays during 5th period or lunch (11:15-12:15). There will be information set up all week in the Nook for both students and community members to look at but a representative from the business will be there personally to talk to students on Wednesdays. We are going to kick off out presentations with a visit from PATTISON SAND COMPANY on December 8th. This is a great opportunity for students to explore their options and for Clayton County to continue to grow and thrive using our homegrown talent. Thank you to the many great businesses for their support! #ClaytonCountyBEST #ClaytonCountyIowa
