Happy Earth Day from the Central Compost Team! Composting food waste is a great way to celebrate Earth Day. Thank you to all team members for your service.

To celebrate Earth Day, the kindergarten classes learned more about composting. Ms. Gritzner came in and read a story, talked about Central's Compost Program and showed the students what the food looks like as it breaks down.

#ClaytonCountyBEST students install a quote that they created in the Spanish Classroom for Mrs. Erickson. The students have been working with a Cricut machine to design decorative and promotions items for a diverse group of partners. The machine was purchased with money awarded through the STEM Enhancement program from the Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council. They have applied skills such as problem solving, creativity, critical thinking and communication to their work. #STEMBEST

Central Stakeholders,
Last night the school board adopted the new CDC guidelines which now state masks are required when within 3' of another person for 15 minutes or more. This means masks will remain required on all of our transportation. It also means masks may be required in classrooms where students can't be spread out 3' or more. Students will be expected to follow the expectation of the teacher and teachers' expectations could be different from class to class. Masks are also still required in the lunch line. Masks are no longer required in the hallways or outdoors or anywhere else when 3' for 15 minutes can be maintained. Students who refuse to follow a bus driver or teachers expectations will follow the consequences found on the Return to Learn Plan. With only a few weeks of school left we thank you for your support as we work toward a strong finish to the school year.
