The Central FFA students also visited Hunter's Honey Farm. The students learned about bee keeping, candle making, products made from honey and wax, how honey gets its flavor, honey extraction with centrifugal force, sampled several different honey products, and much more!

Mrs. Lechtenberg is just loving how the third grade “fall”ing leaf prints turned out!!! To think, their tiny fingers built the leaf print blocks by cutting small pieces of tag board. Oh, the effort and work these little humans are capable of creating!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Will be uploading projects to Artsonia very soon! They will also be displayed in the hallways in time for conferences. 🍂

The Central Community FFA started their venture to Indianapolis for the 2021 National FFA Convention! The crew stopped at Fair Oaks Farm to learn about robotic milking, modern pig farming, and crop production in the Midwest.

Seven Leadership & Service students attended the NE Iowa Regional Youth Leadership Summit at Upper Iowa. They learned about career fields and skills for future leadership roles.

In Makerspace, these 3rd graders have taken apart a broken mini drone and are now soldering wires to see if they can power the lights and propellers with a C battery to maybe use it for something else.

Cheer/Dance Camp

Industrial Tech and #ClaytonCountyBEST students assist Mr. Bergan with a presentation to the Central School Board on Monday night. They are seeking funding for the purchase of new plasma table to help students learn skills for future employment that could possibly lead to some advanced manufacturing projects in the future. Thank you to the school board and administration for the continued support.

October is Fire Prevention Month. Thank you to the Elkader Fire Department for taking time out of your day to show the kids around the station and for your service.

Central High School students attended Masonry Day at Seedorff Masonry, Inc. in Strawberry Point. They toured the brick and block area as well as the maintenance and equipment shop.

Students traveled to NICC Peosta today for a Career Pathways tour. Quotes of the day:

The weather finally cooperated and #ClaytonCountyBEST students got started on their mural painting in the alley behind the Clayton County Genealogical Society today. This is a joint project with Main Street Elkader. Check back for more updates.
