What a night on the course for the Central golf team! ⛳️
The boys brought home the WIN against North Fayette Valley with a tight score of 165 to 167 — their lowest team score at an away meet this season! Big shoutout to Griffen Hammersland, who took 1st place individually with a 39, and Owen Burke, who earned 3rd place with a solid 40!
The girls’ team showed great effort and improved over last night’s performance, even though they didn’t come away with the win. Proud of their continued growth and determination!
Post season golf starts Monday with the boys in Turkey Valley.

Central Band and Choir are off to Decorah for the IHSMA Large Group Festival. Wish these wonderful musicians luck!

The 2nd graders enjoyed a field trip to Fontana Park on Thursday! They all enjoyed seeing the many different animals, having a picnic lunch, playing in the park, and exploring and building in the woods!

🍔 Jerry and Wanda Brink with Our Farm Meats brought their locally raised meat to grill up delicious hamburgers for our students today!
With help from some of our awesome FFA students, the Brinks fired up the grill this morning—and the verdict is in: the burgers are student approved! 👏🔥
We’re so grateful for your generosity and for giving our students a taste of local goodness.

🎉 Congratulations to our 2024-2025 Central Teachers of the Year! 🎉 We were able to surprise both of them last night at our Senior Awards Ceremony!
👩🏫 Secondary Teacher of the Year: Mrs. Meghan Bond
Mrs. Bond is a Golden Owl Award Finalist and is recognized as one of the top FFA educators in the entire state of Iowa. Her outstanding leadership, dedication, and the strength of Central’s FFA program continue to attract families to our district. Her impact is felt far beyond the classroom, and we’re proud to have her representing Central! 🌾🌟
👩🏫 Elementary Teacher of the Year: Mrs. Allison Burkle
Mrs. Burkle goes above and beyond in her work in Special Education — creating individualized academic and behavior plans, collaborating with her teaching teams, and helping organize PBIS assemblies. Her dedication to every student’s success and well-being is truly inspiring! 📚💛
We are so grateful for the passion, care, and excellence these two teachers bring to Central every day. ❤️🤍

Happy School Nurse Day to our amazing Nurse Meghan! 🩺❤️🤍
Our students and staff loved showing their appreciation with some sweet surprises today — and she deserves every bit of it! Check out the smiles and gifts that made her day extra special. 💐🎁

Central's Student body got to meet Alex Demczak and our Student Council members got to take home a book that Alex wrote. He wrote about integrity, leadership, and how that would look like growing up and out side of high school. Talking to our 7-12 grade students about life and how to find yourself with Integrity was a great experience! Thank you Alex for traveling to talk to us and help guide everyone with some wise words.
🚑 It was "M for Medic Day" in preschool, and our littlest learners had a blast discovering what it means to be a medic! 🩺
Thank you to Mercy One for bringing an ambulance and crew to teach our students all about how medics help in emergencies. The kids loved exploring the ambulance and learning from real-life heroes!
Check out these adorable photos of our future helpers in action! ❤️🤍

Today is School Nurse Day, and we’re giving a huge shoutout to the amazing Nurse Meghan Bergan! 🩺❤️🤍
She might have the busiest office in the school, but she always greets every student with kindness, compassion, and care. Whether it’s an emergency, a tough day, a quick chat, or a much-needed hug — Nurse Meghan is always there. There's also all of the behind the scene things that school nurses have to deal with and take care of, and she handles everything with care and precision!
She supports not only physical health, but also mental and emotional well-being, and our students and staff absolutely love and trust her.
We couldn’t be more thankful to have her as part of our Central family. Thank you, Nurse Meghan! 💉🌟

The 4th grade had a great day for the annual Safety Day at the fairgrounds! Students heard about several different topics including being safe around animals and mowers and how to use a fire extinguisher.

These smiling faces are last week's Worthy Warriors! Great job showing caring, commitment, and safety at school! ❤️

The Central Community is proudly flying our Warrior spirit high this week in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week!
Look around town and you’ll see the Central Warriors flags waving proudly—each one a tribute to the incredible dedication of our educators. Together, our amazing teachers bring 663 years of combined experience to our students and classrooms. That’s 663 years of passion, commitment, and care poured into shaping young minds.
A special thank you to Eric Bond for taking the time to put up the flags and help us show our gratitude in such a powerful, visible way.

Attention to the public, Central staff, and students! Central is holding a guest speaker on May 7,2025. Mark your calendars to attend our Leadership Conference!

The Central Varsity Boys Golf Team had an awesome day out at Sunnyside Golf & Country Club in Waterloo today! They played against 14 other teams and crushed last year’s score—improving by 42 strokes! That’s a huge jump and shows just how much work these guys have been putting in. Even better? They had a great time doing it. Way to go, Warriors!

It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and we’re celebrating the incredible educators at Central who wear countless hats every single day! 🎩📚
Our teachers are not just educators—they're also counselors, nurses, cheerleaders, detectives, janitors, comedians, and so much more. They juggle these roles with grace and dedication, always putting our students first.
To all our teachers: THANK YOU for your unwavering commitment and the many hats you wear to support and inspire our students. ❤️🤍
Know a teacher who’s made a difference in your life? Take a moment this week to reach out and let them know how much they’re appreciated!

Join us in the gym at 7:00 PM this Tuesday, May 6th, for a showcase of our amazing high school musicians.

Last home golf meet for the season for the Warriors, so we celebrated Jack Scherf and Brandi Herman for Senior Night!
It was another chilly night, but the boys came away with a win and medalist Griffen Hammersland with a 38. Girls improved over last night but Turkey Valley took the win.
A couple more meets next week and then post season the week after!
