Fifth graders enjoy a mini Hersey chocolate bar from Mrs. Troester (one of the many amazing substitutes) while learning about Math. She tied it into football as well! We love her creativity and the kids sure loved the chocolate!

This week marks National Farm Safety and Health Week in Iowa. Living in a rural community, we value and understand the importance of being safe year round, but want to place an extra emphasis on safety as many of our Central families are making their way into the fields for the fall harvest. Take time to share the road, remember many of these farm machines could be being operated by some of our youngest farmers and above all, practice patience.

Day #1 of Central's Homecoming Week kicks off with The Class of 2024 wearing the traditional Senior Togas! And it looks like the rest of our students may have forgotten to change out of their pajamas before coming to school this morning too! What a great start to Spirit Week!!! Tomorrow brings Country vs. Country Club... can't wait to see what our students and staff have in store!

Central Community, Thank you for all of your support of our home events! We have a lot of events throughout the year and wanted to update you on admission prices for our athletic events this year. Admission is our primary source of revenue to pay our expenses. As expenses go up, our revenue must do the same. When reading the updates below, remember that all Central students have a free activity pass (paid for with the cupcake fundraiser), and students not yet school age are free as well. Adults can purchase an Activities Pass for $65, and Central Community members (and non-Central grandparents) that are 65-years old or older can get an Activity Pass for free from the District Office. Junior High events - Admission for all Junior High events will be $5 per person for Central events. At away games this may vary as each school does this differently. High School events - Admission for all High School events will be $6 per person for Central events. At away games you can anticipate $5 or $6 for most of our opponents. Some schools in Iowa charge as much as $8 per game. Central's increase from $5 to $6 comes from the increased rate for our officials. Next year we anticipate officials pay going up again, which may come with an increase in admission. Football - Football admission is set by our football district. In May our district voted to charge $5 per game. All of Central's home football games will be $5 for the 2023 season. Postseason - Postseason admission prices and all other regulations (such as online payments) are set by the governing body. For athletics this means the IGHSAU (girls) or the IHSAA (boys). Upper Iowa Conference events - Admission for UIC events, such as the UIC Track & Field Meets or Wrestling Tournaments, is set by the UIC Superintendents. Thank you again for your continued support of Central activities. See you at the game!

Third graders enjoyed their time at Plagman Barn today. They made butter in a jar, stirred apple butter, made ropes, watched a sheep get sheared, and even went to a one room schoolhouse. It was a fun day!
