Some high school students have been preparing and sharing agricultural activities with third graders. They were happy to see a live 🐓 chicken up close. Thank you, high school students, for sharing your knowledge with us.

The 1st grade students finished the first unit of Second Step which was about the importance of paying attention. Students learned that in order to pay attention they need to look at the person talking, listen, and think about the directions. Today the student learned to draw Pepito, a character, from a video we watched about steps you can take when we get distracted. The students had fun drawing Pepito and showing off their creative talents.

The 4th graders are part of a postcard exchange. We have 34 postcards ready to be mailed to schools across the U.S. We are looking forward to hearing from all these schools!

Central Juniors in English 3 took a trip to MHI in Independence to learn more about the history of mental health in the state of Iowa today.

The Central Mixed Chorus had their very first performance of the year at the annual UIC Festival held at MFL MarMac last night. The individual song sounded amazing and the mass choir was fabulous. One of our own was selected by the guest director for a solo, too. Congrats on a great first performance!
Thank you to all who attended to support our musicians.

Happy Tuesday! Today my morning started with three students giving me thank you letters. When you have students as awesome as the students we have at Central it is easy being their principal!
