Testimonial Tuesday - From time to time, we receive parent testimonials who have recently been provided or experienced outstanding guidance and support from our staff. Promoting positive experiences is something we feel should be not only focused on but shared with others. This was shared with administration last week following a great night for two of our Central teachers. If you have recently had an experience that you feel is worth noting, please email administration and share what positive impact has been made on your student/family.

For the second year in a row, Central has earned the Carrie Chapman Catt Award that is given to schools with 90% or more of seniors registering to vote. Each year, Central Social Studies Teacher, Mark Wiley works with his American Government class to help students that are 17 years or older complete the steps to become registered voters. The students in government work both semesters and are assigned to classmates to connect with and help fill out the necessary paperwork, along with submitting a pledge to vote via the Secretary of State’s website. Thank you, Mr. Wiley, for your time and dedication to making this happen!

Central is so grateful for all of your donations and pledges to make our annual Spell-a-Thon a success! Thank you!
Please continue to turn in any donation or pledge money if you have not done so already.

Keaton Klingman and Logan Gates traveled to Kirkwood Community college today for a welding competition involving around 6 different school districts and Keaton came out on top, so he's bringing home a brand new Miller welder! This is the 2nd year in a row a Central student has won the competition! Congratulations Keaton!

Check out these makeovers our 9th grade students gave staff members today! The 9th graders were victorious in our penny war fundraiser for the Clayton County Food Shelf last week, and as a result gave these wonderful makeovers to some of their teachers today! Thank you to all who helped fundraise and volunteered for a makeover today!

Quintin visited the kindergarten classes today to talk about composting. Student got to see the lunchroom compost at three different stages of the breakdown process and learned more about what happens to our lunch leftovers. Thanks Quintin for a great lesson and your commitment to the compost team. #ClaytonCountyBEST

Don't forget that this Friday is Hat Day! For a donation of at least $1.00 you can wear your hat all school day!

To celebrate Earth Day coming up on April 22, the 10-12 grade helped Clayton County Conservation make some improvements to the Motor Mill and Osborne pond areas. Students removed invasive species like honeysuckle and crown vetch from prairie areas and removed stumps along trails. It was a great day to be outside and make a difference in the public lands in Clayton County. Thank you to Clayton County Conservation and Kenny Slocum for partnering with #ClaytonCountyBEST and helping us organize the event. Also thank you to Central Senior Brandy Tieden for her hard work to make it all happen yesterday.
The 7th and 8th grade students also participated in some outdoor activities on Tuesday. They included fishing, an Earth Day Scavenger Hunt and litter clean up. Again, thank you to Central Senior Brandy Tieden for her hard work to make it all happen yesterday and Mr. Mork and Mr.Ledbeter for lending a hand.
