The 3/4 & 5/6 girls basketball teams celebrated successful seasons with a family practice and pizza party. Thank you to the girls and family's for their dedication to basketball. The future looks bright for Central Girls Basketball.
Central Community FFA is gearing up to compete at Delhi in the NE Sub-District Leadership Development Events on Tuesday, February 20th! The Conduct of Meetings team had the opportunity for a "dress rehearsal" by presenting to the school board before their meeting!
Our 5th and 6th grade honor band members had a fantastic weekend getting to perform with students from different schools. The 1st year ensemble was made up of 120 kids from around 50 different schools! The day flew by and ended with the students getting the opportunity to perform in Prairie High School's amazing facilities. We are so excited that our students are able to have these performing opportunities!

Large group speech All-State Festival was amazing! Gracie Cummer and Mrs. Stevenson went to Ames and spent the day at Iowa State watching the best of the best in speech. It was a great day!
Congratulations to the Central Girls Basketball Team on finishing 13-3 in the Upper Iowa Conference. Special Shout-Out to Ashlyn Scherf, Grace Kuehl, Brylee Erickson, Gracie Cummer and Makayla Erickson for your UIC Nominations. Way to go Warriors!
Upcoming Warrior Events for the Week!
The kindergarteners and first graders had lots of fun on their field trip to Decorah on Thursday to see the play Tomas and the Library Lady.
Mr. Dennis presented to the elementary students to at our CCS Assembly. Students were asked to volunteer and help Mr. Dennis with his “Science” magic tricks. They learned about several different science topics and how to preform some tricks. Ask your child tonight if they can show you some tricks they learned today. It’s a great day to be a Warrior!
Third graders have started their computer science curriculum. They have been practicing programming using algorithms and what happens when there's an error or bug in it. One way to practice is to have a relay race with several teams, and see if they can complete the algorithm with no mistakes. If a student did find an error, they had to debug the problem and get back on track.
Yesterday was School Resource Officer Appreciation Day and we would like to take this time to recognize Officer Mitch Seitz. Most everyone knows this face and here at Central, we are incredibly lucky to see it on a regular basis. Whether he’s on or off duty, we can always count on him to help keep our schools and students safe. Thank you, Officer Seitz… it’s always a good day when you are in the building!
Did you know that greeting kids when they arrive at school can help increase academic performance and decrease behavior issues? Every morning you can find the teachers at Central helping students make that transition from home to school with positive energy and a caring smile!

Today, Governor Reynolds made a visit to Central CSD to meet with Central Administration and area school superintendents to discuss a variety of education issues. We would like to thank Governor Reynolds for listening to our ideas and sharing her perspective on the AEA Bill.

Central 7th Grade Students were treated to lunch at the Elkader Pizzeria as a reward for this last month's assembly. Big THANKS to the Elkader Pizzeria for hosting Central today! Who doesn't love delicious pizza!!!
We are excited that six 7th and 8th grade band members were selected to perform in the Tri-State Middle School Honor Band in Decorah on March 2nd. This will be the first honor band for some of our students. We are excited to have them representing Central!
Congratulations to these three high school band students who were selected to play in the Dorian Honor Band on February 25th! We are excited that our students have the opportunity to perform with students from surrounding states.
