Last Friday Mrs. Bergan's 6th grade class visited Osborne Nature Center for a survival field trip to conclude our unit over the book "Hatchet" by Gary Paulsen. Morning time was spent deciding on survival items needed, scat identification, and following animal tracks. After lunch we spent time building survival shelters and playing Camouflage I See You game. Thank you Osborne for a great experience.

Today, our November CCS Assembly Ticket Winners visited Happy Joe's in Dyersville. It sounds like our students were so well mannered and behaved, not only were the workers commenting on it, the customers enjoyed dining with our Warriors too!

The Clayton County Food Shelf serves many families throughout the year, but continue to be hit especially hard during the holiday season. Recently, they served over 100 families before Thanksgiving and are currently gearing up for the month of December. The Central High School Boys and Girls Wrestling Teams plan to help out by hosting a Central Warrior Holiday Food Drive over the next two weeks. With a little friendly competition between the boys and girls, there will be two boxes placed outside of the gym doors. If you are able to help out, please place your non-perishable donations in whichever box you choose and we will tally up the items collected and share the winning team on Monday, December 11th. Current food items that are in high demand are: flour, sugar, stuffing mix, cereal, canned fruit, peanut butter, soup, tuna and hamburger helper.
